About this directory

Independent Insurance Agencies is a free, growing directory of independent retail insurance agency offices in the United States. Cirlet, Tyler Mayberry's company, maintains it. There are 191 office listings in 3 states.

What a listing means

An agency's own website is our source for its office address, business contact information, stated insurance lines and evidence of independence. A listing is not a recommendation, license check, or confirmation of availability. Contact the agency directly and check the relevant state records.

Who can be included

Independent retail insurance agencies of any size, including personal, commercial, life, health, benefits and Medicare specialists. Captive offices, carriers, adjusters, title-only businesses, wholesale-only intermediaries and lead-generation sites are outside this directory.

How we research and publish

  1. Discover a possible agency through public search, an official record or a suggestion.
  2. Read the agency's website for independence evidence and a real office address. A license in a state does not establish an office there.
  3. Record only supported business facts, with sources and check dates. Blank specialties or insurance-company fields mean not recorded, not unavailable.
  4. Review the office before publication. Shared websites do not collapse separate branches. Listings appear alphabetically by town and name, with no paid placement.

We publish a city page only after at least five admissible office records have been reviewed. Counts are office listings, not a count of unique companies. We do not have a nationwide completeness estimate.

Missouri records and dates

The first 181 records came from our Missouri directory. They retain their original sources, check dates and listing anchors. That initial research focused on smaller P&C agencies; the national directory has broader eligibility. Kansas and Texas records added on 7 October 2026 were read separately. Copying a record does not refresh its date.

Every listing shows its own check date. We aim to recheck each record at least every three months. Corrections can be sent at any time. A removed office stays suppressed unless the agency asks to return.

Who pays for this

Cirlet maintains the directory and offers AI-assistant setup for agencies. Listings are free and independent of purchasing that service. Public directory imports do not automatically add anyone to an outreach list.

Questions

Is this an official registry?

No. It is privately maintained by Cirlet, without association or government endorsement. Official state records are the place to check current licensing.

Can a life or health agency be listed?

Yes, if it is an independent retail agency with its own verifiable office and website evidence. There is no P&C-only eligibility rule.

How do I request a correction or removal?

Use the link in your listing or email tyler@cirlet.com. Include the office URL and what should change. We aim to make corrections within a few business days.
